Calling all animal-lovers out there! If you are planning a trip to Bali, here's the ultimate ani-venture guide to Bali Safari.

It is my second time back at Bali Safari and this time, I'm back with my family as there's just so many fun things to explore at Bali Safari. Previously, I only went for the day safari, but this time I got to experience a lot of interactive close-up encounters with the animals and of course not to miss out on the Night Safari tram-- the main reason I'm back for! It's a great place for a family ani-venture, and what's even more awesome is that there is free entrance for kids below 3 years old. Check out my adventure in the Vlog below!
So in summary, here are 10 things to add to your Safari bucket list!
#01 - Hop on the Day Safari Tram Ride

From the comfort of your fully air-conditioned safari bus, you will encounter animals like the camel, deers, lions, rhinos and many more! The safari ride lasts around 15 minutes.
Journey through the jungle and visit native animals from Indonesia, India and Africa. I think it does a pretty good job of simulating an actual safari trip in the wild.
#02 - Feed the Meerkat
If you are keen to get a super personal encounter with the meerkats, you can top up for a meerkat encounter (Pre-book at the Tsavo Lion Restaurant as slots fill up fast. )
I felt a bit squirmish at the start as the roller container that you use to feed the meerkats contains worms! However, I did not regret this close up encounter with the meerkats as you see these playful and hungry meerkats fighting and jumping up and down to fish out the worms from the roller container. But be warned, don't be fooled by their adorable appearance, they are actually really aggressive when they are fighting for their food! XD
Meerkat feeding encounter timings are 9.30am & 2pm daily.

#03 - Say HIGH to the Giraffe
You can also book a Giraffe Feeding Encounter (book at the Tsavo Lion Restaurant ) and get a chance to meet the giants up close and personal and feed them with the leaves provided. The giraffe feeding encounter times are 9.30-11am & 1-3pm daily.
#04 - Meet Jumbo's friends
It's elephant feeding time! Be extra careful with your basket of fruits when you are feeding them as another long nose might just sneak up and steal the whole basket of fruits away while you are feeding one.
#05 - Chase After Farm Animals
Free roaming farm animals gives you the perfect chance to take a selfie, but that's provided if you don't chase them away! XD
#06 - Wake Up to a Safari View at Mara River Safari Lodge
To complete your safari experience, book a night at the Mara River Safari Lodge in the safari itself. The Stay and Safari packages are really very value-for-money and I personally find it more worth it that just going for the safari ticket alone. Check out Mara River Safari Lodge website for more details on the packages.
The twin-sharing Swala Deluxe rooms in Mara River Safari Lodge are located at the ground floor with views of the zebra, rhinos and giraffes right outside your balcony. Imagine seeing these adorable animals right when you open your eyes in the morning. Carrots are provided for you to feed the animals in the safari.
There's also an outdoor shared pool where you can swim while overlooking the zebras grazing in the grass patch beside the pool.

#07 - Enjoy a Delicious BBQ Dinner buffet
After a long day, indulge in a BBQ buffet! The selection and the food are rather average, but I love the candlelight dinner ambiance in the safari themed outdoor restaurant.
After dinner, feel the heat and excitement at the Afrika! Rhythm of Fire Show! Kids please beware that these are highly trained performers, so don't play with fire when you are home yea...
#08 - Night Safari Cage Bus
The main highlight comes at night fall, when you become the ones being loaded onto a cage tram in the night safari tour, and you can hand feed animals like tiger, lions, elephants at a super close range!
#09 - Breakfast with the Lions
Rise and shine after a night at the safari lodge. Head down to the Tsavo Lion Restaurant for a buffet breakfast with views of the lions.
#10 - Feed the Animals at the Petting Zoo
Head down to the mini petting zoo where young kids or kids at heart like me will be super excited to feed the animals like goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and more! You will simply lose track of time here playing with these cuddly animals.
There are also many animal shows that you might be interested in, and this handy show schedule will come in real handy to help you plan your day at Bali Safari.
